How to install Homebrew on Mac

What is Homebrew?
You can use Homebrew to install software using the command line on Mac OS X. This is an indispensable tool for command line users on Mac. For us, it’s used all the time.
Install Homebrew in 30 seconds
The simplest way to install Homebrew is through ruby and curl, accomplished with a single command.
1. Open the “Terminal” application, found in /Applications/Utilities/
2. Enter the following command into a single line of the terminal
/usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)"
3. Press enter to run the command. You’ll see some lines about the installation.
4. Press return again to agree and when prompted, enter your user password.

This approach is the same for installing Homebrew in all supported versions of Mac OS and Mac OS X.
